In a mid-air drama, a champagne spill becomes a pivotal moment. As the bubbly liquid drenches Mr. Villiers' precious Eastern manuscript during a turbulence, Cecile leans over to wipe it. But the scholar grabs her wrist, stripping away all pretence of civility. In that instant, the hum of the cabin and the whispers of the passengers fade away. She sees her reflection in his eyes, not as the elegant flight attendant, but as a clear, trapped individual.

The flight finally lands. Cecile rejects all the "arrangements". She takes off her uniform, walks out of the airport, and merges into the gray Parisian streetscape.
